WTC Christmas Do at the Tall Ships

In Attendance: SS, GB, J, BBB and Sniffer
Weather: Coldest night of the year - fecking freezing

So this years Christmas do happened at the Tall ships near Gloucester Docks. Well, not so much a Christmas do as we went to a different pub for a change. BBB’s mate Craig (not that one - another one) was playing the guitar and having a bit of a sing song. There was some pool played, a drunken Chef with a stammer (not Dozzer - another one) and some beer quaffed.

Anyway from this dive of a pub - which was actually very entertaining, we huddled through the frozen wastelands of Gloucester to Cafe Rene - a warm little late night boozer which incidentally, is what we became when we got there. (Except for Jugs who became a warm big-eared boozer.

After a beer or so in there it was a Taxi to McDonald’s. However - tosser of a Taxi driver wouldn’t allow food in the cab - so he lost a fare from McDonald’s all around the houses to drop us all off. Instead we walked through the drive-in (always a pleasure never a chore) and then the heroic Hutch picked us up in his cab by reversing into the drive through.

All back to Golfys house to eat said burgers (good tip - cheeseburgers 99p bargain!!), piss about with those women on late night TV and eat all his Quality Street..... Quality!!

The return of the Royal Oak

In Attendance: J, SS, GB, BBB, LP
Weather: Reasonably Cold

For the first time in an age we went back to the Royal Oak. Some improvements here as a New landlord in in situ. Food was a bargain. Beer was passable. Conversation was excellent as always.

Pikey Brown showed up and regaled us with tales of his forthcoming trip to Butlins in Skegness. Oooo how the other half live ;-)

If his name is Mick, he must be Irish!

In Attendance: BBB, GB, SS, J & Sniffer
Weather: Cold, but not raining.

So it turns out that Mick Hucknall isn’t Irish... the tosser’s from Manchester! Should have guessed really. And how have we come to this conclusion ? Well - it’s a story....

Evening started off with Mr & Mrs Sniff (& Jake) along with Mr & Mrs Jugs (& Snow) and Mr & Mrs Golfy having dinner in the Wagon. And very nice it was too. After dinner, the men retired to the the drawing room (meaning that the ladies all went home) and partook of further alcoholic beverages.

SS & Sniff regaled us with the story of their recent visit to the Specials Gig (all very interesting and with much frivolity it would seem)

BBB told us of his new remote controlled golf buggy and the charges that he’ll be getting for owning it at the next quarterly.

Jugs reminded us of the yellow staked incident involving Mr Reece and dropping forward of said yellow stakes.

Somehow we got onto the question of the best Album of the naughties (2000-2009) so far... which led onto the top 40 selling Albums in the UK from 1956 to Jul 2009

Here they are:

Skitt'ling and Koppaberg

Attendees: GB, SS and Jugs
Weather: Ridiculously Mild for the time of year - Sat out in the garden without the heaters.

So Skittles... The Alleycats were playing at England’s Glory again, as were Stan and Jugs. Horrendous turnout on the part of the other members of the WTC and only responses from Sniffer (can’t make it) and Craigy (back late from Essex after dealing with a search warrant).

Anyway - the skittles went well during the first half although was not enjoyed by Jugs and Stan and so once they’d completed their first half (and the gay that is Reeser arrived) we buggered off to the Water Poet (in town) and discovered Kopparberg (Pear Cider).

Kopparberg tastes like pear drops and is very drinkable. In the evening it’s an excellent drink. In the morning, it’s feckin’ horrible. That’s how WE roll!

Final thought: AWESOMENESS! When I get sad, I stop being sad and be awesome again. True Story.

Uphill Allotmenteering

Attendees: G, BBB, SS, J & Sniff.

A most entertaining evening. As Mrs Golfy’s Sister and Brother-in-law (My favourite brother-in-law as it happens) have been visiting, they were able to join us along with Mrs Golfy and Mrs BBB. Also special guest appearances from Jess, Alex, Brooke, Ryan & Kelly.

Much frivolity (mostly at Golfy’s expense), some half decent nosh and a few beers. Talk of BBB never being allowed to play golf again (well for a while) along with the re-assertion that Reeser is gay, borne out by the fact that he has an allotment.

Next time Golfy has to organise a quarterly, will investigate a game in Scotland with aforementioned favourite brother-in-law.

Mrs Golfy did a superb job of helping finish off the vino, although not sure it really agreed with her and then finally back home to watch an excellent edition of Question Time where the BNP turned out to be (surprise surprise) a complete bunch of tossers.

Excellent.

Supporting the Alleycats

In attendance: SS, GB, ET

England’s Glory was the location and the attendance wa poor. But the hardcores, Stan and Golfy, showed up to support El Tel and the rest of the Alleycats who won their game of skittles.

Beer was drunk and frivolity was had. Reeser (An AGS member) expressed his displeasure at the floated plans for next years AGS Tour. Namely moving it to October time.... time will tell.

Reeser (who claims he’s not gay) is apparently gaining a bald patch...

A Super Sunday (with the Ladies)

The Important halves joined a few of the hardcore WTC for a spot of nosh and beer in two of the pubs we attend.

Here’s a couple of photos:

12 Month holiday and WTClub or Fight Club?

Well it’s been 12 months since I updated the blog. Mostly because I couldn’t be arsed and have just been busy doing other stuff too. Anyway, now we have a new home for the WTC site and a new maintenance method so it’s all a bit easier.

So Craigy decided he could beat BBB in a fight and wanted to prove it. It wasn’t serious he was just very very very drunk.... Bless him. Only spent about 2 hours in the pub car-park after the pub had shut trying to persuade BBB to fight him and falling in the bushes at the same time. What a buffoon!!
